Every band has its own tale to tell and so have The Kinkels. The story of The Kinkels starts in 1994 when six musician gathered to prepare for the celebrations of Lent - a four day event 6 weeks prior to Easter known in the southern regions of the Netherlands as Carnival. Each musician brought along their own style of music ranging from Punk to Jazz and from Folk to Rock and Roll flavoured with a little taste of theatre. The newly formed band threw themselves into the celebrations with a repertoire of 15 songs. The sheer enthusiasm of the band hit home with the audience. The taste of success made the seasoned campaigners hungry for more The blend and taste of the musicians soon developed into a wide and broad repertoire varying from Rock and Roll, Tear Jerkers, Funk, Folk, Disco Nederpop and Latin. This combined with their renowned pace and seemingly endless energy, their gigs provide the perfect party atmosphere for the audience whether in the local pub at national or international festivals.
